THE BAVARIAN SINGER IN HIS PUREST FORM

The public adores him. The German tenor arouses passions wherever he goes, and his performances are always synonymous with a great music and social event. Success and constant adulation by audiences and critics all over the world can do nothing to overwhelm Jonas Kaufmann, who always comes out on stage displaying huge simplicity and honesty. The anti-divo returns to Peralada this summer alongside maestro and colleague Jochen Rieder, who will be conducting from the podium of the Resident Orchestra of the Teatro Real, on a night of arias and works from the grand repertoire. His concerts are sparkling occasions for seeing his numerous registers and to be able to enjoy his extensive voice, rich in musicality and great technique, combined with extraordinary performing skills and a huge vocal quality. Having reached full vocal and personal maturity, he masters like few others the German repertoire with the French, with a touch of Italian added, as well as performing tragic heroes and dark-souled characters sublimely, as he has shown once again in his latest resounding début with Verdi's Otello at London’s Covent Garden. His discography doesn’t stop growing; in the latest, L’Opera (Sony Classical), the Bavarian singer pays tribute to the French repertoire, completely immersing himself in a new world that makes one who many believe to be the leading lyric-spinto tenor of the day even greater.
