The “100 Palaus a Peralada” series takes place in the Iglesia del Carmen and all concerts start at 7.30pm.

This summer, the Iglesia del Carme de Peralada will be the venue for a new festival initiative, which pays homage to the Palau de la Música Catalana in its 100th anniversary year. Concerts include a series of recitals by up-and-coming musicians interpreting classic composers from throughout history – Bach, Chopin, Mozart and Beethoven, in addition to Joaquim Serra from the Empurdà region -, performances by the celebrated Cor de Cambra del Palau, Cuarteto Quiroga and a piano duet by the brothers Luis and Víctor del Valle. This homage to the art nouveau concert hall designed by Domènech i Montaner stems from the desire to form a bond between both organisations and to bring the spirit of the 100-year-old masterpiece to the heart of the Empurdà region. The Cor del Palau concert, accompanied by Carles Trepat on guitar, includes Romancero Gitano byMario Castelnuevo-Tedesco and La Filla del marxant series byManuel Oltra.
