The 22nd edition of the Castell de Peralada Festival aims to continue promoting standards of excellence for all. Because of this, it has opted for authentic art that is capable of reaching a great variety of audiences, while transmitting a wide range of deep sensations and emotions for all spectators.

As always, music is the highlight of the festival programme. Listings feature diverse styles and genres suited to every taste, without sacrificing the quality and professional integrity of the artists involved. 33 performances are scheduled to take place over 32 days, during which audiences can enjoy symphonies, jazz, pop, opera, lyrical recitals, gospel, dance, flamenco, variety shows, theatrical performances, a chamber music series in homage to 100 years of music at the Palau de la Música Catalana, and a family cycle to entertain even the youngest spectators. All this makes up a technically complex but balanced programme, characterised above all by its variety intended for all types of audiences.

This year’s programme takes place in the three festival areas: the Castle Gardens Auditorium, the Iglesia del Carmen and the Castle Garden Pavilion.

The central stage of the festival hosts the greatest number of performances this summer: the opera La Bohème, the conductor Kurt Masur with the Orchestre National de France, a Roland Petit ballet, the tenor Juan Diego Flórez and the OBC, pianist Ivo Pogorelich together with the Orquestra de Cadaqués, the Color Dansa company, Diana Krall, Jérôme Savary’s final performance and Salvador Távora’s comeback, are just some of the events scheduled to take place here.

The Iglesia del Carmen will play host to the “100 Palaus a Peralada” series, made up of 5 chamber music concerts organised by Las Juventudes Musicales de España, two shows featuring artists that have already triumphed in the “Petit Palau”, and a recital given by the Cor de Cambra of the Palau de la Música Catalana. This will be the Festival organisation’s homage to the 100 years of the Palau de la Música Catalana through music and up-and-coming Spanish artists.

Lastly, the “Petit Peralada” family series, featuring four performances, will take place on the same stage as last year’s edition in the Castle Gardens Pavilion, confirming its repeated success in the festival programme.
