A space to be seen in.
A platform open to creation which acts as a vehicle for the different forms of communication invented by humans, a platform for freedom that enables us to relate the stories that feed our imagination and transport us to worlds, often unspoilt, that open the door to new experiences and emotions.
All this may prove useful when defining a stage, this space, which can host a range of disciplines that we agree to call the performing arts and which constitute this rich universe of shared sensations created through music, opera, the theatre, dance and all those disciplines that can be captured in this magical and evocative space.
The work of Gao Xingjian, a multi-faceted, almost Renaissance artist, enables us to put the face to a modest tribute to everyone who works in the performing arts, which without a doubt constitute a nation, made up of all the many different sensitivities and techniques, as is the case of the author of the poster for our 23rd edition.
The curtain rises and the stage setting presides over the world…
