The Orquestra de Cadaqués – which last year celebrated its twentieth anniversary – is back in Peralada again this summer to show off its high level of excellence, this time alongside Santander conductor Jaime Martín and one of the masters from the pool of the new young musicians, violinist Valeriy Sokolov. This trio of aces will combine their talent in the interpretation of the Concert for violin and orchestra in D major, Op. 35 by Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky, a piece that only appears in the repertoire of the greatest violinists. To commemorate the bicentenary of the birth of a die-hard romantic, Felix Mendelssohn-Batholdy, there will be a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with actor and director Josep Maria Pou as the narrator and sopranos Maria Eugenia Boix and Raquel Lojendio.
