Composed by Miquel Ortega and based on the homonymous work by Federico García Lorca, La Casa de Bernarda Alba is an opera which emanates an ambiguous tonal flavour that traps the listener from the outset, as it makes a truthful discovery of the tempestuous history of women created by the talent of the poet from Granada. With maestro Ortega as conductor, stage construction by Jon Berrondo and stage manager Román Calleja, this work will be heard for the first time in Spain when it arrives at the Festival Castell de Peralada and Santander Festival with a cast that includes the voices of Montserrat Martí, Elena Casián, Marina Rodríguez-Cusí, Beatriz Lanza, Marina Pardo and Hasmik Nahapetyan. An excellent opportunity to check the temperature of modern Spanish operatic creation.
