Based on a text that received the 2003 Children’s and Young People’s Theatre Sgae Award, Dora, la filla del sol will be premiering at the Festival. This is a tale that discusses the power of friendship and magic. A girl of mixed race is fighting racial discrimination and the bullying that she is suffering at school. The Avi, the Dona sense Cor, the parrot Rigoletto, the Chinese cook Liang and Charlie and his evil shadow make up the world that surrounds this girl who wins one over on social injustice. A story that invites us to reflect and which uses all the elements of the theatre – an imaginative wardrobe and inspiring stage setting, an attractive score – to capture children’s attention, offering a message of tolerance that is just right for the cognitive level of the very youngest. A production by the creators of Pirats and Papanotes.
