RAMON LLULL SUMMER UNIVERSITY - MEET THE ARTISTS

The meet-the-artists programmes organised by the Ramon Llull Summer University and the Festival Castell de Peralada serve to illustrate the desire to create links with people, with both institutions wanting to bring the public and artists together through communication spaces that reach beyond the stage.
This initiative also aims to offer concert-goers the chance to get to know international artists personally and offers them the opportunity of being part of a privileged audience by listening to the concerts in advance, and also enjoy the experiences of the creator, working processes and a behind-the-scenes look at the performance.

Music and the stage

The aim of this session is to discuss the relationship between music and the stage moving beyond the purely sound aspect. The way in which this relationship is translated will be explained by: Xavier Albertí (musician and theatre director), Santi Arisa (musician and cultural promoter) and Albert Guinovart (musician and composer). Three speakers, who, with their experience as creators, will introduce us to the different ambiences of musical staging.

Checking the health of the family show in Catalonia

This year, as part of the programme of parallel activities at the 2010 Festival Castell de Peralada, we will be holding the second conference aimed at finding out the current situation and immediate future of the family show. This we will be doing through meetings with all the theatres, auditoriums and concert halls that this season will be staging family theatre in Catalonia to work as one and boost the industry with proposals and tools that help venues undertake their projects with greater resources. We will also be holding meetings with the associations that are the driving force behind the circuits and the professional artists and companies associations.
