25,000 viewers fill the venues at the Peralada Festival, where dance and opera put a special accent on the schedule of events

The Peralada Festival drew to a close this year with an increase in turnout over that of last year. Boasting an average venue occupation of over 90%, 25,000 viewers flocked to Peralada to enjoy the different scheduled activities. Ten of the shows broke records, with total sell-outs. As many as 22 shows filled this year’s celebration with light, color, magic and culture, where the Festival has remained steadfast in its commitment to high quality, uniqueness and premiere events. Audiences enjoyed performances never to be seen again in either Spain or Catalonia, with an extensive lineup of opera, dance, pop and cultural activities. The chosen backdrops for these events included the large Peralada Castle Park Auditorium, as well as smaller venues such as the Església del Carme Church, the Cloister and the Castle Library. This was the first year that the Festival was held with its recently earned UNE-ISO 20121 Certificate. The Castell de Peralada Festival is the first musical event in Spain to obtain this certificate, which clearly speaks for the steadfast commitment to the environmental, social and economic sustainability of the region. Each year, this Festival generates an economic impact of over €12 million for the area.
