Perico Pastor, creator of the poster for the 30th Peralada Festival

The Castell de Peralada Festival has commissioned the poster for its 30th edition to painter, sketcher and illustrator Perico Pastor, who has published his illustrations in Harper's Magazine, Village Voice, Vogue and especially in The New York Times, and produces leader articles and illustrations for the El País, La Vanguardia, El Periódico de Catalunya and International Herald Tribune newspapers.

Perico Pastor has also exhibited his work in galleries in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Miami and Barcelona.

In his vision of Turandot, the colour red is dominant, for passion and blood, with touches of gold to show her character: cold in love but with a volcanic temper. According to the artist, “Turandot rather lets rip her passion on the side of the razor blade and blood than on the other.”
