ANA MORALES REPLACE ISRAEL GALVÁN

ANA MORALES REPLACE ISRAEL GALVÁN

The bailaora Ana Morales joins the Peralada Festival to replace the dancer Israel Galván, who will not be able to take part this summer as initially planned due to an injury that will keep him off the stage for the next few weeks.

The show "Solo" by Israel Galván, scheduled for 1 August at 22:00 in the Mirador del Castillo, will be replaced by the flamenco show "En la cuerda floja" by Ana Morales. Spectators who already purchased tickets may keep them to attend the Ana Morales show if they so wish, or request an automatic refund. If you have any questions, please contact the box office by calling +34 972 53 82 92 or by writing an e-mail to taquilla@festivalperalada.com.

National Dance Award 2022 winner Ana Morales is known for recreating different chapters of her life journey on the stage. Her shows are firmly grounded in life and reality, which are described through an autobiographical dance of sweeping moves that combines avant-garde and tradition. "En la cuerda floja" is a show by Ana Morales, Compañía de Danza, co-produced by El Centro de Danza Canal (Teatros del Canal de Madrid), the Flamenco Biennial of Seville and the Flamenco Biennial of Amsterdam, which premiered on 28 September 2020 at the Teatro Central de Sevilla as part of its 21st Flamenco Biennial. In it, Morales stars in and directs this show in which she explains how to challenge oneself as a human being in an increasingly incomprehensible world. A creation in which the dancer attempts to delve into our moods and that suggests we use imbalance as a necessary tool to move forward in life. Morales’ broken, contemporary flamenco with all its demolishing force perfectly captures this constant search we are on, often unwittingly, for balance and imbalance, for a way out of a state of comfort in pursuit of something new.

The Perelada Festival, now in its 37th year, will be held from 28 July to 5 August, and will feature artists such as tenor Freddie De Tommaso, Diana Damrau, Cappella Mediterranea conducted by Luis García Alarcón, Jordi Savall and Le Concert des Nations, Nuria Rial, Jonathan Tetelman, Serena Sáenz, Xabier Anduaga and the staged opera The Telephone by Menotti, among others.
