TICKETS ON SALE NOW: BAYREUTH FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA

Tickets for the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana are now on sale. The performance will take place in Barcelona on 29 August 2026 and will be one of the highlights of Festival Perelada’s 40th anniversary celebrations, which will conclude with this historic visit.

This project, recently presented at the Castell de Peralada, is also part of the international tour marking the 150th anniversary of the Bayreuth Festival. Festival Perelada’s director, Oriol Aguilà, has highlighted its symbolic value: “The celebrations will conclude at the end of next summer, in 2026, with a historic visit: that of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra,” and has recalled the origins of the collaboration, which began with a proposal from the festival to Katharina Wagner in 2021.

The concert at the Palau also strengthens the connection with the modernist venue’s Wagnerian tradition. Its general director, Joan Oller, has underlined the Palau’s longstanding relationship with Wagner’s universe and the significance of hosting an ensemble regarded as an absolute benchmark in Wagner interpretation.

The tour’s musical direction is led by Pablo Heras-Casado, one of the most acclaimed conductors on the international scene, closely linked to Bayreuth since his debut with Parsifal (2023). Katharina Wagner, director of the Bayreuth Festival, has in turn stressed the exceptional nature of this outing and the institutional partnership that makes it possible.

The programme will feature a selection of emblematic moments from Richard Wagner’s The Ring of the Nibelung (1813–1883), with excerpts from Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung.
