Le jardin féerique
KATIA & MARIELLE LABÈQUE
A SHARED WORLD OF SENSITIVITY, PRECISION AND FREEDOM
Charismatic, versatile and with a unique rapport, Katia and Marielle Labèque form one of the most acclaimed piano duos on the international stage. Celebrated both for their mastery of the classical repertoire and their bold contemporary and experimental projects, the Labèque sisters have built a remarkable career that continues to challenge and captivate audiences worldwide.
This time, they come to the Perelada Festival with a programme that invites you to dream with Le jardin féerique. From the fairy-tale magic of Maurice Ravel's Ma mère l’Oye - originally written for children and later turned into a masterpiece of evocative lyricism - to the poetic and deeply human intensity of Schubert's Fantasie in F minor, the evening offers an emotional journey through diverse interpretations of fantasy. Philip Glass's hypnotic Four Movements for Two Pianos completes the programme: contemporary minimalism with an enveloping rhythm that contrasts the external with the intimate. Three universes, three languages, one emotion: art as a form of revelation.
What would we be without fantasy? In the hands of two extraordinary performers, fantasy is transformed into evocation, play, memory and shared emotion, through a programme that traces an aesthetic arc where music becomes image, story and poetry.
