LA LUZ DEL LOBO NO PESA
A dialogue between light, voice and architecture
LA LUZ DEL LOBO NO PESA is a performative installation by composers and creators Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou, in collaboration with light artist Jou Serra, which transforms the Carme Church into a space of listening and perception. The proposal invites the public to inhabit a fragile architecture of light, sound and body, where time seems to be suspended.
A large luminous form floats in space and interacts with a sound atmosphere inspired by textless fragments of De lamentatione Ieremiæ Prophetæ by Alonso Lobo, transformed into vocal traces and ephemeral breaths. The live intervention of the Bruckner Choir, under the direction of Júlia Sesé, enhances the experience with the living presence of the human voice, fully integrating it into the spatial and luminous device.
The title of the piece plays with the double meaning of lobo — Renaissance composer and the Spanish word for "wolf" — and opens a poetic reflection on otherness, recognition and coexistence with what we perceive as different. This installation is the first part of a creative process that will culminate in LOBO, a theatrical piece to be premiered this summer at the Grec Festival.
An immersive and ephemeral experience that invites the public to inhabit the Carme Church with a new sense of hearing and a new perspective.
