A SCENIC-GASTRONOMIC EXPERIENCE
40 YEARS ON THE JOURNEY
WHAT WE HAVE EXPERIENCED AND WHAT IS ABOUT TO BEGIN
The Perelada Festival marks its 40th anniversary with 40 Years into the Journey, a theatrical and gastronomic experience conceived by Joan Antón Rechi that transforms the celebration into a sensory journey through time and the Festival’s own history. More than a party, the event is imagines as a meeting place for different languages, where music, dance and the spoken word engage with the landscape and the audience’s shared experience.
True to the spirit that has defined the Festival over four decades, this evening unfolds as a succession of theatrical moments that evoke its origins, the path travelled and the journey still ahead. As Rechi himself suggests, the aim is not to look back with nostalgia, but to understand the past as a living force that continues to project itself into the future.
Featuring guest artists who will be revealed throughout the evening, the programme also includes the participation of Botis Seva, winner of the third edition of the Carmen Mateu Young Artist European Award. The choreographer will present a preview of Sing Child Sing, a commission from the Festival that will subsequently begin its tour of various European venues. This new work forms part of a creation characterised by an intense physical language, capable of connecting identity, memory and contemporary expression.
In this context, the gastronomy by Paco Pérez, is not a complement, but an integral part of an experience that blurs the boundaries between stage and reality. The Festival thus returns to one of its core principles: transforming each evening into a memorable experience, where art is not just contemplated but shared.
Forty years are not commemorated but lived through. And it is in this transition—between what has been and what has yet to take shape—that the Festival finds its identity and looks towards the future.
