SARA BLANCH & MICHAEL SPYRES
The Perelada Festival brings together two voices that transform singing into a realm of precision, risk and expressiveness. Soprano Sara Blanch and tenor Michael Spyres will share the stage in a recital that places two unique careers in dialogue, with bel canto as their meeting ground.
Trained in this repertoire and with a growing reputation, Sara Blanch has established a brilliant and flexible voice, capable of tackling both Rossinian agility and roles requiring greater expressive breadth. Her recent career has taken her to stages such as the Royal Opera House in London, La Scala in Milan and the Paris Opera, confirming a steady evolution that places her among the most prominent sopranos of her generation.
Her relationship with the Perelada Festival, which began a decade ago as a resident artist, has unfolded through various projects -from recitals at the Church of El Carme to her participation in Combattimento, as well as her appearance at the Festival's special edition in Rome-, forging a bond that has grown over time and is now renewed on this stage.
Michael Spyres has established himself as one of the most distinctive figures in today's opera scene. Defining himself as a baritenor, his voice combines breadth, flexibility and a remarkable capacity for stylistic adaptation, qualities that have allowed him to move with ease from the Rossini repertoire to roles of great dramatic demand. His recent career, with debuts in roles such as Tristan and Siegmund, demonstrates an unusual evolution, driven by a constant search for new expressive boundaries.
Two voices that meet on the threshold between form and emotion, where singing is built phrase by phrase.
