The young French tenor has set off on an impressive international career that has led him to conquer the hearts of audiences at the very best European opera houses. His impeccable technique and colourful, elegant voice with clear tones has caused a frenzy and made him one of the most prominent tenors of his generation at just 35 years old. Singing exclusively for the Deutsche Grammophon label, his first solo album was released by the iconic record company at the end of 2019, featuring a selection of Italian, French and Russian opera arias showcasing his powerful voice and the promising future that lies ahead of him. The young lyrical tenor’s repertoire is his central focus, and ranges from Belcantist operas such as L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti, French operas such as Faust by Gounoud or Manon de Massenet to Verdi operas such as La Traviata and Luisa Miller,or La damnation de Faust by Berlioz, and many more. The natural heir to great lyrical tenors from history, such as Pavarotti and Alagna, Bernheim works to bring traditional Belcantist repertoire back to the stage, especially works in French as the lyrical tenor focuses on the elegance of each sound, line and song in every one of his performances. With a programme that combines opera arias and songs, the Carmen Church will once again host an unmissable début. A unique opportunity to be seduced by the talent of a tenor who has received accolades from music fans around the world.
