SONYA YONCHEVA
In this edition, soprano Sonya Yoncheva presents a tribute to one of the most fascinating writers of Romanticism: George Sand. With a repertoire that blends the vocal lyricism and emotional depth of Sand's texts, Yoncheva invites us to immerse ourselves in the passionate and challenging world of the author. Through her voice, she opens a window into a realm where George Sand defied the social norms of her time, defending freedom and passion through her words and works.
In this recital, Yoncheva not only performs the great arias that have defined her international career, but also uses her voice as an instrument that expresses the word, much like the novelist did with her writing. The programme, deeply influenced by Sand, features verses by Pauline Viardot and Alfred de Musset, who shared an intense personal and intellectual connection with Sand. Known for her ability to bring characters to life with unique expressiveness, the soprano invites us into an intimate conversation about love, freedom, human complexity and the contradictions that defined Sand's universe.
An evening where Sand's words and Yoncheva's notes merge to create a new narrative. A hymn to creative freedom and an uncontrollable passion for life.
