LORENA NOGAL

LE TERROIR

LE TERROIR
BETWEEN BODY AND MATTER

Le Terroir is a creation by choreographer and dancer Lorena Nogal which, following its premiere, returns to Celler Peralada, the space for which it was conceived. Performed alongside dancer Álvaro Esteban, this site-specific piece unfolds as a physical and sensory exploration of transformation.
Inspired by the wine-making process - from matter to fermentation, from time to mutation - the piece connects this imagery with the body, understood as a territory in constant flux. Far from narrative representation, Le Terroir works through the presence and matter, bringing forth a dance that transforms before the audience's eyes.
The piece is structured around several still lifes distributed throughout the space, where the audience surrounds the performers and becomes an active part of the experience. This proximity dissolves the distance of the stage and places the audience within the performance, inviting them to complete the piece with their own perception. El Celler is not just a stage, but living matter that enters into dialogue with movement and the presence of bodies.
Through her language - linked to research developed with La Veronal - Nogal constructs a fragmented and tense body, oscillating between mechanical gesture and deeply organic expressiveness. With Álvaro Esteban, she crafts a precise and demanding physical writing that unfolds between abstraction and a powerful sensory charge.
With music by Franco Mento, Le Terroir establishes itself as an immersive experience of great visual power, activating space, body and gaze, and proposing a way of inhabiting dance through proximity and perception.
