COS A COS
IMMA SANTACREU & HÈCTOR PARRA
FROM IMPROVISATION TO SCORE
Acclaimed musicians Imma Santacreu and Hector Parra are known for their innovative, collaborative approach to musical creation. They are landing in Peralada with their workshop-concert 'Cos a Cos' (Body to Body) which premiered as part of the KM0 cycle in the BCN Classics Season. An unparalleled opportunity for this musical pairing, who do not usually come together on stage. With just one piano, the programme includes solo interpretations by Imma Santacreu and pieces in which both artists will appear, taking turns. The programme starts with ‘Le lever du soleil (Constellation I by Joan Miró)’, for unaccompanied piano, followed by ‘Nocturne’ (based on Constellation XIII by Joan Miró) for piano four hands and objects and ‘Love - Life After Architecture’ by Hector Parra. Half way through the concert, Hector Parra's, ‘Sarabande de l'òpera Les Bienveillantes’ will give way to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, with a performance of the Prelude in C Major, number 16 of the Well-Tempered Clavier, Volume 2, and the Sarabande from French Suite No 5. The concert will end with ‘Reminiscències de l'òpera Orgia’, taken from the last opera that Parra composed in Rome, Orgia, a coproduction by the Peralada Festival, Bilbao's Teatro Arriaga and the Gran Teatre del Liceu, with libretto and stage direction by Calixto Bieito based on the work by Pier Paolo Pasolini. ‘Cos a Cos’ invites the audience to immerse themselves in Santacreu and Parra's creative process in a truly unique and inspiring experience.
